I wrote the film score for an animated film by Ally Brenowitz called Fugitive Fox and Bard Bear (2024).

Fugitive Fox has made a habit out of being a thief, but one day she steals something irreplaceable from the wrong animal.

Ally asked me to score this film like an old cartoon and to use a traditional orchestra in the score. In this manner, I went ahead with "Mickey Mousing" some specific actions in the film with hits in the music, similar to those old Disney animations. An example of this would be the piano glissando to show Fugitive Fox noticing a money bag, or an orchestral growl to go with Bard Bear's angry transformation.

Fur Elise was requested to be used for the pun for what Bard Bear was playing, so I went ahead and quoted some of it as a motif, too. Notably, it was used as part of the chase sequence music, which turned it into a fast-paced rhythmic gesture. Other motifs or textures are used to provide different moods, like a soft bed of springs when Bard Bear opens the package to reveal an eighth note (or a quaver).

You can listen to the score below. When the film becomes publicly available, as it is currently in the film festival circuits, I will add a link below.
